In Hungary, the sector Buildings was responsible for 11.79 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 18.4% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (19.61 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have decreased by 39.9%. Under existing measures, emissions from this sector are projected to reach 5.1 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
