In Germany, the sector Buildings was responsible for 119.29 Mt CO₂eq of emissions in the year 2021, which is 15.7% of total emissions in that year. Compared to 1990 (210.03 Mt CO₂eq), emissions have decreased by 43.2%. Under existing measures, emissions from this sector are projected to reach 4.3 Mt CO₂eq by 2050.
